I have been hand making nail polish for about two years now and am in love with the process. The outlet it gives me to express my creativity is amazing. I put a lot of time and effort into creating beautiful colors with multiple dimensions. Each and every color that has been produced has been personally tested by myself, and often by my daughters also. Nail polish makes me happy. Beautiful colors bring me joy. This business truly is a means for me to pass my joy and happiness along to others.
Every color is created through a careful process. It starts with a small prototype (less than half an ounce) of 5-free nail polish base. I add various color pigments, glitters, and special effect pigments (such as holographic) until I achieve a color and formula I love. I carefully weigh and record every element of the prototype. After the prototype passes the testing phase, I scale the recipe to produce 12-18 bottles of polish at one time. To mix a batch of polish, I carefully weigh out all the components into a 16-32 ounce paint cup and mix them together. After the polish is created, they are hand poured into individual nail polish bottles. I then hand label each bottle with a Nail Hoot front label, and a top label with the color name. Polishes are then ready to go to their forever homes.
